چکیده

The spatiotemporal dynamics of a phytoplankton-zooplanktonmodelwith an alternative prey and refuge effect is investigatedmathematically and numerically. The stability of the equilibriumpoint and the travelingwave solution of the phytoplankton-zooplankton model are described based on theoretical mathematical work, which provides the basis of the numerical simulation. The numerical analysis shows that refuges have a strong effect on the spatiotemporal dynamics of the model according to the pattern formation. These results may help us to understand prey-predator interactions in water ecosystems. They are also relevant to research into phytoplankton-zooplankton ecosystems.

The Dynamical Analysis of a Delayed Prey-Predator Model with a Refuge-Stage Structure Prey Population

A mathematical model describing the dynamics  of a  delayed  stage structure prey - predator  system  with  prey  refuge  is  considered.  The  existence,  uniqueness  and bounded- ness  of  the  solution  are  discussed.    All  the  feasibl e  equilibrium  points  are determined.  The   stability  analysis  of  them  are  investigated.  By  employ ing  the time delay as the bifurcation parame...

The role of virus infection in a simple phytoplankton zooplankton system.

Many planktonic species show spectacular bursts ("blooms") in population density. Though viral infections are known to cause behavioural and other changes in phytoplankton and other aquatic species, yet their role in regulating the phytoplankton population is still far from being understood. To study the role of viral diseases in the planktonic species, we model the phytoplankton-zooplankton sy...

Parameterising competing zooplankton for survival in plankton functional type models

32 33 Marine plankton ecosystems are an important component of biogeochemical cycling in the oceans. 34 Operational plankton functional type (PFT) models, that group plankton according to their 35 biogeochemical properties, are currently being developed to resolve biogenic gas exchange between 36 the ocean and atmosphere, and to model the lowest trophic levels in fisheries models. A 37 fundamen...

Adding detritus to a nutrient-phytoplankton- zooplankton model: a dynamical-systems approach

The dynamics of two plankton population models are investigated to examine sensitivities to model complexity and to parameter values. The models simulate concentrations of nutrients, phytoplankton, zooplankton and detritus in the oceanic mixed layer. In Model 1, zooplankton can graze only upon phytoplankton, whereas in Model 2 zooplankton can graze upon phytoplankton and detritus. Both feeding ...

SPATIOTEMPORAL DYNAMIC OF TOXIN PRODUCING PHYTOPLANKTON (TPP)-ZOOPLANKTON INTERACTION

The present paper deals with a toxin producing phytoplankton (TPP)-zooplankton interaction in spatial environment in thecontext of phytoplankton bloom. In the absence of diffusion the stability of the given system in terms of co-existence and hopf bifurcation has been discussed. After that TPP-zooplankton interaction is considered in spatiotemporal domain by assuming self diffusion in both popu...
